Bikram Yoga is considered by many to be an advanced form of yoga which requires a considerable amount of concentration and focus. This form of yoga, also known as Hot Yoga, incorporates numerous different Bikram Yoga poses throughout each session. What makes Bikram Yoga relatively more difficult and particularly unique however is that each Bikram Yoga pose will be practiced in a heated room at a temperature of one hundred and five degrees Fahrenheit or hotter. Throughout the session of a Bikram Yoga class, there will be a total of twenty six unique Bikram Yoga poses which have been scientifically proven to naturally cleanse the body and even cure chronic ailments while healing the human body. Each of the twenty six Bikram Yoga poses are exclusive and copyrighted by the founder, Bikram Choudhury, who offers a certification course to become a licensed trainer of Bikram Yoga. Because a certain Bikram Yoga pose may prove to be more difficult to some than others, it is necessary that the proper precautions are taken before starting a Hot Yoga session. The heat in which a Bikram Yoga pose is performed in also factors in to the precautionary measures.

While performing the Bikram Yoga poses, there are a few essential fundamentals to keep in mind throughout the class session. Each Bikram Yoga pose is to be performed while breathing in a certain fashion that may be recognized in other forms of yoga as well. This form of breathing is called Kapalabhati breathing, and it is done by focusing energy throughout the lower abdomen, exhaling forcefully while inhaling in a calm and controlled manner. Another fundamental element to keep in mind is complete symmetry with the instructor. Bikram Yoga poses are only as effective as the effort put in, and while a certain Bikram Yoga pose may seem impossible at first, your body will eventually adapt and learn to move in ways like never before with consistency and determination.
The first wave of Bikram Yoga poses are usually the simplest, and are made up of standing Bikram Yoga poses with both feet in the ground. The purpose of a standing Bikram Yoga pose is to mentally and physically prepare for the rest of the session. These Bikram Yoga poses will also assist your body in becoming accustomed to the heated temperatures and concentrated breathing methods. The next set of Bikram Yoga poses will be a series of movements that bend your body backwards. Practice extra caution while performing a Bikram Yoga pose that incorporates backbends, especially if you have any back problems. Following the backbends are Bikram Yoga poses that will bend your body forward. After the forward bends comes a series of Bikram Yoga poses that incorporate a lot of twisting, which is believed to cleanse your body by ridding it of toxins.
Bikram Yoga is a great way to keep in shape, cleanse your body, and stay healthy both mentally and physically, but it is important to keep in mind the limitations of your body, especially when trying Bikram Yoga poses for the first time.
